Nadia on Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve morning Santa came to our house and brought a kitchen and pots and pans! 
She cooked for Santa right away. 
She loves the ornament that sings with the book from The Powers Family. She pushed the button over and over to hear the animals talk. She especially loved the "onh hee". Andy and I led the Family Christmas Eve Service at church and then headed out to NC. 
We woke up on Christmas morning and all piled on the bed in my parents room (like we have every year of my life that I can remember) and said the Christmas story from Luke 2 before going out to open presents. 
Santa had come to Nana and Granddaddy's house too! He brought a Nadia sized-chair that matches the ones on their sun porch. Granddaddy had sewn cushions for it that match the adult-sized ones. Nadia went straight to it and had a seat. 
Santa also brought a baby - with real open and shut eyes and a magnetic paci and hands. Nadia loves her and didn't put her down most of the day. 
She also got a baby bed - it has a trundle drawer and the sweetest bedding made by Nana...
and a baby doll high chair! She knew just what to do to put the baby in and start feeding her!
She's also wearing the apron Nana made for using in her kitchen (with matching placemats to coordinate when setting the table of course).

Aunt Jeannie sent a package from Florida with corn dobbers and instructions for Nadia to have some corn on the cob now that she has all these teeth. Nana made her a cob and she had it with breakfast with much excitement.

Nadia helped Grandmother play the piano. She danced, sang and played along. 
There is NO doubt that she has music in her bones - if music is going, she has to move!
Nadia got an awesome Little People house from Gamma and Poppa - it makes sounds and has figures that can go in and out of the door, in chairs, in beds, etc.

It started snowing Christmas night - our first White Christmas! We ran out to see it...notice the flakes. 
The next morning the ground was covered! It was a winter wonderland! We took Nadia out to play in it. Yes, she's wearing pajamas - over her clothes for an extra layer of warmth, along with plastic bags over her feet to keep them dry. I didn't check the weather before we left and didn't really anticipate snow play!

Outside in the snow with Gamma, Poppa and Auntie StephWe all had an absolutely wonderfully Merry Christmas with so much fun and joy! Christmas is beyond special with a child to share it with - she liked opening gifts (tiny piece by tiny piece at a time) and loves playing with all of her new toys. She has done so many new things in the past two weeks, but I've failed at writing them down, so I'm sure I'm forgetting something big, but here are the highlights:
She now knows 80 words. The latest new words - Cheezit (can you guess our fav snack?), down, row row (sung for row row row your boat which she will find in one of her three similar nursery rhyme books and bring to us to read), family members names (Jor, Al, Pat, Nana, Gran-da, Poppa, Gamma, Seph), all done (which she says when done with a meal), clown (which she identified repeatedly upon sight without my ever having talked to her about it before), paper (for coloring), deer, cookie, jingle (sung for jingle bells).
She fed herself dinner with a fork tonight - poked the veggies on her tray and put them in her mouth with the fork all by herself.
She will dance non-stop to any kind of music and lights up whenever there is music. She sings all throughout the day and refers to any guitar or violin with "ba ba bamba" because of a rendition of La la bamba on one of her Sesame Street DVDs done with guitar and various animal sounds.
She loves to "count" - her fingers, any item in a row, food, blocks, etc by pointing to them one at a time until they are all touched and while we say, "1, 2, 3..."
She is so affectionate. She will give us hugs and kisses on her own accord and is good to give good night kisses to everyone before bed. She has slept through the night 3 out of the last 5 nights and we're holding our breath for tonight!
It was a great holiday and we can hardly wait to see what all will come with the new year! Happy 2011 everyone!
