Easter afternoon we met at Sesquicentennial Park in Columbia for paddleboating,

festive Easter dinner,

and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Lydi has gotten so big, she can splash most of the water out of the tub.

So she moved into the big tub with Nad!

Grown-Up Getaway

For my birthday, Andy planned a suprise trip for the two of us to Darien. We hung out under the gorgeous spanish moss covered trees, kayaked in the marsh, visited tourist sites not involving animals or children's museums, went to nice dinners where we didn't have to juggle a baby on one side, help a toddler eat on the other side and try to get bites in my own mouth inbetween for a whole 3 days!

We stayed at the Blue Heron Inn - my first bed and breakfast experience. I'd recommend it for travel without kids (but definitely not with). Fresh flowers when we walked in the door. The view from our balcony. We visited this historical site.The park rangers feed this raccoon like a pet. We took a ferry to Sapalo Island where we had a private tour of the island led by an 82 year old resident. We stopped at the Reynolds mansion.This was the nursery in the mansion.

On our way out of town we stopped by the Smallest Church in America. We also spent a day at the beach, shopping and playing mini-golf. It was a wonderful re-charge getaway, and the girls had a great time with Mrs. Meg and Miss Beth while we were gone.

Planting seeds and an African Violet sprout mom had rooted from the last visit to NC when Nad pulled it off her plant. Note the "gardening gloves" Nad is wearing! Too funny...

Pinata!

Nadia saw an episode of Caillou where there was a pinata ("comada" in Nad's description) at Leo's Mexican Fiesta Birthday party. She was recapping this information to Nana and mom immediately said, "We'll make a pinata the next time I see you!"

When Nana and Granddaddy came for my birthday, Nana brought all the supplies for Nadia to make her very own pinata!

Very exciting and very messy!

Lydi thought it was pretty exciting too, but she decided just to watch from the sidelines this time.

The next day after it had dried, she filled it with candy!

Then there were extra decorations and getting ready to "hit it with a stick!"
