Nadia's 3rd snow (the 2nd in less than a month!) - we had a few inches that were covered in ice by the second day.
At 15 months, we can't believe how grown up our little girl has become! She knows 93 documented words (and probably several others that I've missed along the way). She loves to play babies - feeding them, rocking them, hugging them, putting them to bed, and mostly carrying them around the house under one arm. She loves to play kitchen - cooking in her pots and taking food from the fridge to the microwave, pressing the buttons, washing dishes in the sink and then feeding us, herself and her babies what she has made. She continues to love reading books and enjoys more and more looking at them by herself. She is a great eater, eating most everything we offer her. She still loves the water and really enjoys bath time. She still isn't consistently sleeping through the night (maybe 1-2 nights a week if we're lucky). She takes one 45 min-1 hour nap in the afternoons, most days. She is the best natured kid - happy all of the time, friendly to all, so easily adaptable to whatever we ask of her. She had her first real temper tantrum this afternoon - quite an uncharacteristic and highly dramatic event!
This past week I went to a Children's Ministers Conference and Andy and Nadia were home together. They had a great time! While I was gone Nadia found a piece of trash on the floor, walked over the trash can, lifted the lid and put it in all by herself. Another day, she and Andy were packing up to get in the car, and he thought she didn't need a coat b/c she was wearing a hoodie. He said, "Let's go get in the car," and Nadia went over, grabbed her coat and took it with her to the door.
Last week I asked her if she would like yogurt or cheese toast for breakfast and as clear as could be she responded, "Cheese toast!" She loves her nannies, is always happy to see them and occassionally cries when they leave. She looks forward to seeing her friends and teachers in her class at school. At school a couple weeks ago, one child in her class was upset and she went over and got a ball and brought it to that child to console them. She came to work with me last Tuesday on the snow day and played in my office and in the empty hallway at church all day very patiently. She is more and more able to play independently.
What a total joy! So hard to believe it's been 15 months of this joy!
