After the shower yesterday, Nana, Gamma, Papa and Aunt Stephanie spent the night with us so that they'd all be here for the Parental Dedication service today at church. Parental dedication is a service for parents to acknowledge that their children are not their own, but truly God's, entrusted to their care. We ask for God's guidance and wisdom as we teach her, nurture her and strive to model for her Christ's love and we ask for God's blessing on her. It was a special service with eight families bringing their children today. We started with a brunch for the families before the service. I got to wear both my "minister" hat and "mom" hat by introducing all of the families, but the best was when I was able to introduce Nadia as our daughter to our whole church family! We were so glad so many of our family members were able to be here to share this special day with us. We know that others - Granddaddy and Auntie Al also really wanted to be here but preaching and distance made that impossible - so we'll show them the DVD... It was also Nadia's first time to meet her Great Grandparents.
