Happy Birthday!!!

 Nadia's 3rd and Lydia's 1st Birthday Party!  It's a Jungle Out There!

 Lydia's cake was a lion.  Nadia wanted cupcakes - so we had monkeys and red velvet zebras.

 I can't believe we have a 3 year old big girl!   Happy Birthday Nadia!

 Or a 1 year old little girl!  Wow how time flies!

 She was so neat with her cake!  She ate lots of it with one hand and it got on her face, but not on her clothes or the floor.  The day before the party I was explaining to Nadia that it was a tradition for babies to get their own cake and to let them eat it with their hands.  I showed her the pics of when she turned one to be sure she understood what Lydia would be doing.  Nadia's comment was, "That isn't very nice manners.  I'll use my fork."  HAHA! 

 Party activities included crafts making binoculars to use on the outdoor safari to hunt for jungle animals, jungle bead animal necklaces, lion masks, animal footprint matching, jungle jump house, feed the hungry lion ball toss, playdough with jungle animal shapes, a toy area for the little ones with jungle themed toys, and a handprint and measuring station.  Nana made a grey handprint of every child which I later turned into an elephant.  We also took height to compare to a giraffe, weight to compare to an elephant, jumping distance to compare to a walaroo, time to stand on one foor like a flamingo, speed in running on 2 legs like an ostrich and on 4 legs like a cheetah.  I mounted the prints and stats to jungle scrapbook paper for a keepsake/thank you note.

 Lyd conked out after missing her nap time to party.  She got a good snooze on Aunt Steph's shoulder while we cleaned up so she could rejoin the party continued back at home. 

 A giraffe, lion and zebra stood beneath the amazing palm tree Nana made.  The tree is now in our house as a reading area for the girls!

It was so much fun to celebrate together!  I'm grateful for all the friends and family who made time to celebrate with us!  What fun it is to have a 1 and 3 year old!!!
