Life as a Family of Four

Such sweet sister love!

Nad always wants to "see baby" - when she does she touches Lydi so gently, so sweetly, so lovingly. She often goes on her own to play with her, offer her a toy, re-position her paci, or give her a kiss. Nad gets the great big sister award in our book!

Lydia has been a girl on the move, since birth. She went to Sams at 5 days old, church at 7 days old, Atlanta at 13 days, and to Nana and Granddaddy's house at 15 days! I took Lydia and Nadia to NC for the weekend to visit, and we sent Andy to Athens to the GA games. Both girls are excellent travelers, and we made it in great time with just one stop each way.

After church on Sunday - Lydia and I slipped in on the back row at 11:02, and she didn't say a peep through the whole service.

Double snuggle

Nadia LOVES LOVES drawing, painting, and playdough right now. She spends hours a day on these things! I drew the moon, stars and basic sun. Nadia then took the marker and added a "face" and accent "hair" on this sun! I was so impressed! See the eyes, nose, mouth and hair? Nadia added those completely on her own and described them as such as she did it!

Reading books with Poppa

Tonight when I opened the fridge to get milk for Nadia, she stepped into to look around. She set her sights on a container of sour cream and said, "I want it." Then she pulled it out, moved over to the silverware drawer, reached in and pulled out a spoon declaring, "Big spoon." Dispite our warnings that this was sour cream, not whatever she thought it might be, she wanted some. So I put a blob on her plate at dinner. She proceeded to eat it with a spoon and ask for more! Oh silly girl!

Ready to go Trick or Treating!

Andy and Nadia in their 50s "costumes!" The day after Halloween, Nadia woke up and asked for "more Trick or Treat, more costumes!"

Even Lydia and I went Trick or Treating (just next door) then Andy and Nad went to several neighbors and friends for "candy!" She had a wonderful time!

Lydia Annelise Jones is here!

Lydia was born October 27, 2011 weighing 7 lbs, 19 3/4 inches long - perfect in every way!

38 1/2 weeks pregnant (she was 9 days early).

I worked all day Wednesday, though Wednesday night church activities where the Servers had a suprise shower for me. Nadia and I got home about 8:30 Pm and contractions started around 9:00. Nothing like working down to the last minute! Since I'd been having contractions on and off for weeks, I decided to lay down and see what happened. At 1:15 AM we decided to call Sarahbeth to come stay with Nadia so we could head to the hospital as contractions were about 6 minutes apart. By the time we left (around 2:30 am) and got to the hospital (around 3:00), contractions were between 2 and 4 minutes apart. We went to Triage where hospital policy requires you be monitored for an hour to determine if it's true labor before being admitted. At 4:30 we were taken to an L&D Room and given an IV. My contractions which had remained steady and strong to that point dramatically slowed because of the IV fluids. At 7 am, my doctor came in and broke my water which made the contractions resume at incredible speed and strength. I got an epidural around 7:30 but it didn't kick in until an hour later. That was one intense hour and a half! By 8:30 with the epidural in place I was happy to chat and visit as we waited. At 12:30 I was fully dialated and we started pushing. Lydia Annelise was born at 1:28 pm!

Welcome to the world baby girl!

Nadia had lots of kisses for her right from the start. She was so gentle and touched and kissed her so sweetly!

Meeting Uncle Jordan!

Andy got to give her a glucose water bottle for some special Daddy Daughter bonding time.

This is Lydia's Dalmation Dog made especially for her by Andy with much love.

She fits exactly between Andy's elbow and fingers!

The hospital does photography on site. You can see Lydia's pics at http://www.bellababyphotography.com/ Choose "View Photos" The password is bpit1027jones

Just like Nadia, she wants her arms and hands up by her face, not down at her side or in a swaddle.

Nadia has been Big Sister Extraordinaire! She has shown great love, and great patience and is adjusting wonderfully! She continually looks out for Lydia - making sure she's okay when she cries, asking to hold her or giving her a paci.

She has lots of dark hair and dark eyes that are greyish blue at the moment.
